This Christmas, Birmingham entertainer, Divine Miss M will be playing the role of Sinderfella (the adult UK touring panto) at Birmingham’s Wellington Hotel. I wanted to find out more about her and the show she will be performing in and so we sat down for a little cup of tea and a chat.

1. Can you tell me about yourself and your career highlights so far?
I am a seasoned performer, doing the circuit and working all over the world
for around 20 years. I have worked in places such as Dubai, Tel Aviv, Phillipines,
Germany, 3 months in The Canaries… 2 years in The Republic of Ireland to name but a few,
and just about every bar in Birmingham and surrounding areas.
I have worked with the likes of C.C.Penniston, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Bucks Fizz, and far too many to name drop! 😉 as hostess for their P.A’s.
A definite highlight of my career, was closing a Priscilla Queen of the Dessert Event in which C.C.Penniston (Finally) and Charlene (I’ve Been To Paradise) performed their hits from the show live, and I finished the show singing the Vanessa Williams classic Save The Best For Last, to a standing ovation.

2. How would your friends describe you, in five words or less?

3. Can you tell me about the story of Sinderfella and what people can expect if they come to see the show?
The story is much as the classic tale, but not for the faint hearted!!
Crazy characters, and a script to make your hair curl..
But with all the fun and participation of a classic Panto..
And from watching a video of a previous performance, I believe a lot of ad libbing, which I am really looking forward to!

4. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
The build up and sausages wrapped in bacon!

5. If you weren’t playing Sinderfella, what other character in the show would you like to play (male or female)?
GaGa the ugly sister, she has some fantastic lines, and really gets into the audience..

6. What will you be asking Santa for this Christmas?
A holiday to recover after Panto!!…. please?

7. Why should people come and see Sinderfella?
You should come and see Sinderfella cos I am in it!… but seriously, with all the negativity
in the world at present, it is 2 hours of light relief, where all you have to worry about is
if I get to marry my Prince…. all I can say is I wish life imitated art!!

Thank you for having Tea With Wilma
