Emma Hatton Pheasantry

Known and loved by thousands for her portrayal of the iconic character Elphaba in the West End hit Wicked, Emma Hatton brings her timeless vocals to Live at Zedel based at Crazy Coqs on 28 October, with a celebration of Eva Cassidy, whose stirring and emotional interpretation of iconic songs coupled with her untimely death at the young age of 33 touched the world.

Audiences can look forward to stunning arrangements of Eva’s songbook, including Fields of Gold and Over the Rainbow, in a way only Emma can deliver – with warmth, fragility and heart.

Following her sold-out shows at both Kettners and the Pheasantry, Emma is rapidly gaining a huge following for her intimate cabaret work showcasing her natural affinity for jazz and blues. Emma’s debut EP, Merry Christmas, Darling, reached Number 1 in the iTunes jazz chart and featured a duet with the brilliant Anthony Strong. The pair are currently working on her second EP, for release later this year. Meanwhile, Emma’s track Mad About the Boy is the most downloaded on the London Gay Big Band’s album Brave, recorded at Abbey Road.

Of Songbird, Emma says: “I have loved Eva Cassidy since I first heard her sing. She has the most wonderfully emotive sound that is unique to her – you only need to hear a word or a note to know it’s Eva. As a vocalist, that’s incredibly special and what we all seek to achieve. It’s truly an honour to be able to combine my own sound with Eva’s genius.”

Emma Hatton: Songbird comes to Live at Zedel at Crazy Coqs in Piccadilly for one night only, on 28th October at 7pm. Tickets, priced at £20, can be booked now at https://www.brasseriezedel.com/live-at-zedel/emma-hatton/61633893.
