Michael Ball is a musical theatre legend, with a career spanning forty years.
He originated the role of Marius in the West End production of Les Miserables and has returned to the production many times throughout the years. Most recently he played the role of Javert in the staged concert version of the show at the Gielgud Theatre.
He played Raoul in the second cast of The Phantom of the Opera (replacing Steven Barton who left to play the role on Broadway) and starred in The Woman In White, both on Broadway and in the West End. Michael was part of the original London cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s musical Aspects of Love and also the original London cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
In 2007, Michael played Edna Turnblad in the West End production of Hairspray and then went on to star alongside Imelda Staunton in Sweeney Todd at the Adelphi Theatre.
Michael Ball is a household name, often appearing on television and radio. He has released more than twenty studio albums and several with his partner in crime, Alfie Boe, with whom he has appeared in many shows with over the years.
