Rachel Tucker made it all the way through to the semi-finals of the Andrew Lloyd Webber television contest ‘I’d Do Anything‘, the search for an actress to play Nancy in the West End revival of Oliver.
Later on in 2008 she played the part of ‘Meat’ in the West End production of We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre.
In March 2010, Rachel Tucker began performances as ‘Elphaba’ in the London production of Wicked alongside co-star Louise Dearman as ‘Glinda’.
In October 2012, Louise Dearman took over the role of ‘Elphaba’ as Tucker left the show to have a baby. In September 2015, Rachel began performances as ‘Elphaba’ in the Broadway production of Wicked and then in 2016, she returned to the London production to reprise the role for the show’s 10th anniversary production.
Other roles she has played include ‘Ida’ in Farragut North at London’s Southwark Playhouse, The Last Ship on Broadway in 2014 and Communicating Doors at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2015.
In February 2019, Rachel Tucker originated the role of ‘Beverley Bass’ in the Original London Cast of Come From Away and in February 2020, she moved to New York to play the part in the Broadway production.
Rachel Tucker has released two albums, ‘The Reason‘ in 2013 and ‘On The Road‘ in 2017.
She was won many awards over her career including West End Wilma Awards for ‘Best Cabaret’ in 2015 and 2017.
