Bookatable – Europe’s biggest online restaurant booking service has called The Heliot Steakhouse (inside the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square) the ‘Best Steak Restaurant in London’. Overlooking a place I frequent often (the main casino) I obviously jumped at the chance to check out their Pre Theatre Menu.
Between my friend and I we sampled some of the finest food the Hippodrome has to offer, from the Goat Cheese Lollipops (with lemon curd and wild rocket) and Green Salad (with roast chicken and parmesan dressing) to the only thing we thought it fair to have at a Steak House, the Rump Steak and Fries with a gorgeous red wine sauce. For desert we had the fragile looking but beautiful tasting Almond Millefeuille (with winter fruits and mascarpone) and Ice Cream! At £17.50 for three courses this is great value for money and in beautiful surroundings.
There are six bars throughout The Hippodrome, including Heliot Cocktail Bar, which is the central hub of the casino with a drinks list offering everything from American beers to unique cocktails. The Cranbourn Bar, sited on the third floor adjacent to the two-tier Smoking Terrace, is the West End’s busiest and most popular late night venue.
