Can you tell me a little bit about yourself and your performing background?
I’m from NYC and I am a professional actor and veteran of 4 Broadway shows and 10 movies, including Sister Act I and II with Whoopi Goldberg and the recent Coen Brothers film, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. I have written 6 solo shows, Bexley,OH!, Willa Cather, Harper Lee, Agatha Christie, Virginia Woolf and Anne Frank, as told by her close confidante, Miep Gies.

Tell me about your new show, what it is all about?
Agatha is Missing! Is a solo interactive murder mystery. I play Detective Miss Clarissa Marbles from Scotland Yard. Everyone in the audience is a suspect in the mysterious disappearance of Agatha Christie and they should be prepared to answer for their crimes.

How long have you been working on this show and what is it that makes it relevant to audiences in 2019?
I have been working on it for 5 years and have performed it all over the US. I t is relevant today because Agatha Christie continues to fascinate people with her diabolical crime stories. This is a crime story that she actually lived. It’s true!

Do you have any top tips for surviving the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – both for performers and visitors to the event?
Performers should be prepared to flyer a lot. It’s the only way to get audiences. Also, stay in town. Last year, I was in a suburb and it wasn’t convenient. For visitors I would just tell them to buy tickets to my show.

What has been the funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you on stage?
Once my top fell off on stage and I wasn’t wearing anything under it. The audience loved it.

Who are your biggest inspirations in the industry and why?
The women I write solo shows about inspire me: Harper Lee because she stood up for racial equality, Willa Cather because she dared to express her sexual preference for women at a time and place where it was not acceptable, Agatha Christie because of her twisted and original mind, Miep Gies for her heroism in keeping Anne Frank and her family alive for over 2 years and saving Anne’s diary, and Virginia Woolf for her writing genius and for giving a public speech 1939 in which she outed her 2 half-brothers for molesting her.

Do you have any pre-show rituals?
Interrogating the audience

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at Edinburgh Fringe?
Madame Komondor will See You Now, The Pat Hobby Story

Why do you think people should come and see your show over the thousands of others on at the fringe?
Because it’s a murder mystery and they get to be a part of it and play. Who doesn’t want to have fun?
