One of the most hotly anticipated shows to open this year is the Broadway transfer of Motown the musical. The show follows the legendary career of Berry Gordy and the creation of his musical empire, Motown Records. It’s based on Gordy’s 1994 autobiography To Be Loved: The Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown and premiered on Broadway in 2013 to critical acclaim receiving four Tony nominations. Producers of the London premier will hoping for the same response and with a cast hand picked by Gordy himself, and a plethora of hugely popular hit songs, Motown the musical is set to be a popular choice with theatre goers.
