Mrs Henderson Presents starts in 1937 when the eponymous heroin finds herself as a widow with plenty of money but really nothing that interests her to spend it on. She invests in the iconic theatre and with the help of manger Vivian Van Damm transforms the venue into the place to be with a non-stop revue, but as business begins to fail with the interruption of World War II, the pair are inspired by the Moulin Rouge and hit upon a way to keep the home fires burning within the hearts and loins of their loyal following. The musical includes some very famous nude tableaux vivants as part of the revues. The ‘living pictures’, sort to marry the art forms of the stage with painting and photography and within this production are understandably the biggest talking point.
