First London West End Theatre Show Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Outbreak
The London premiere of Christopher Durang’s Tony Award-winning Best Play comedy, ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike‘, due to start previews at Charing Cross Theatre on Saturday 21 March will not now go ahead as planned due to concerns over the Coronavirus, making it the first West End show to announce its cancellation due to the worldwide epidemic.
This follows the news yesterday that every Broadway show that holds over 500 people has been closed down for a minimum of one month.
The cast of ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ features two time Olivier award-winner Janie Dee, Vincent Franklin, Rebecca Lacey, Michelle Asante, Charlie Maher and Lukwesa Mwamba will be rescheduled later in the year.
