You oughta know that the jagged little pill musical could be coming to London this summer and I for one am head over feet about it and will be putting one hand in my pocket to buy a ticket if it’s true.

Yes, it feels like 1995 all over again with all the news about an American musical based on the hit album Jagged Little Pill by singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette is currently having its try-out in Boston before it opens on Broadway. Or at least that’s what we all thought was going to be happening.

According to someone on Twitter, in a message that was quickly deleted, the musical will be heading to London’s Trafalgar Studios this summer for an eight week run. This would fit in line with the try-out in Boston ending mid-July. Apparently, the Twitter user named Carl was also correct in predicting several other shows which would open in London and so seems to be a reliable source of information.

The musical features all thirteen songs from the hit album Jagged Little Pill and also includes three new songs written for the show by Alanis Morissette including ‘Smiling’, ‘Predator’ and ‘No’, plus six other tracks from other Alanis albums (including Uninvited, Hands Clean and Thank U).

The show is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Waitress, Finding Neverland), with a book by Academy Award winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno). Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt (American Idiot, Next To Normal) provides orchestrations and arrangements.
