More than 50 performers from shows such as Wicked, Matilda, Phantom of the Opera, Strictly Ballroom, Billy Elliot, Bat Out Of Hell, Les Miserables, Hamilton and more are coming together on April 15th at the Actors Church in Covent Garden for a very special cause.
The brave firefighters of the North Kensington Red Watch Division were first responders at Grenfell Tower and are running the Virgin London Marathon to raise money for Kids On the Green, an arts based charity set up to help the children most affected by the tragedy and their families.
Organised by Kieran Brown (Wicked, Titanic, Phantom Of the Opera) and Sabrina Aloueche (Chess, We Will Rock You, Les Miserables), the evening features stars such as Gina Beck, Oliver Saville, Brenda Edwards, Union J’s Jaymi Hensely, The Barricade Boys, the West End Gospel Choir and many more, performing some musical theatre favourites.
There will also be an online auction (as part of a Facebook/Twitter Live backstage broadcast during the event), a raffle and tombola with some amazing prizes to be won.
Firefighter Tom Abell said:
“All of us firefighters at North Kensington are really excited about the show. I’m a big fan of the theatre and often find myself singing show tunes from the likes of Book Of Mormon around the station, much to the bemusement of my colleagues! It’s fantastic that so many stars of the West End are giving up their time to help the kids of Grenfell. We really are lucky to have these wonderful people in our corner. With such a stellar line up, Night of 100 Heroes is truly going to be a night to remember”.
Tickets start at £20 and discounts are available for members of the emergency services by using the code “HEROESFORGRENFELL” at checkout (I.D. will be required at the box office on the night). Tickets can be bought here
