REVIEW: A Gatsby Christmas (London Cabaret Club) ★★★★

The twenties were fun, there’s no doubt about it. The music, fashion and attitudes after the war were mischievous and fancy free. Combine this era with the festivities of Christmas and you just can’t go wrong.

So expectations were high for A Gatsby Christmas – the seasonal offering from The London Cabaret Club – and we were not disappointed.

An immersive cabaret experience, this show combines luxury dining, wine and cocktails, with acrobatics, magic and dance. Every act brings a new surprise that has the audience gasping with awe and glee. From acrobats, magicians and dancers aplenty, it’s non-stop entertainment.

The costumes are as breathtaking as the show, a mass of sequins no sparkle. Singers perform various songs from the twenties, plus several Christmas pieces, getting the audience tapping their toes as they enjoy a festive four-course feast complete with crackers.

Once the plates are cleared everyone is invited to dance the night away – something that few decline.

It’s fun, it’s festive and it’s frivolous.
