REVIEW: MYRA DUBOIS: DEAD FUNNY (Underbelly, Bristro Square) ★★★★
August 20, 2019  //  By:   //  Edinburgh, Reviews  //  Comments are off

Myra Dubois is dead! However, through the magic of theatre, she is at the Underbelly hosting her eulogy every day.

Yorkshire’s queen of mean is back with her latest show featuring the classic Myra put-downs that we all love her for, as well as some original songs and a brief insight into her pre-showbiz life, with a Skype call to her sister.

Myra’s hour-long show is centered around her own funeral service and the format follows suit – music, reading etc – much of which requires audience participation and paves the way for her trademark audience roasts. To that endeavour, Myra is deliciously vile; she retorts to every audience interaction without skipping a beat; sharp as a tack and hilarious each time. It’s hard to believe it isn’t scripted – it isn’t – it’s simply the hallmark of a seasoned pro.

Myra’s Dead Funny is a must-see hour drag this fringe.
