Last night was the 2015 West End Bares charity show in aid of the Make A Difference Trust, raising money to support people living with HIV and Aids and their families.
The Make A Difference Trust is a UK based charity with a vision of a world free from HIV and AIDS. Building on the legacy of 25 years of fundraising by the Theatre industry, they continue to make the vision a reality having distributed over £1.6 million in grants to support individuals experiencing hardship across the UK as well as over £1million to support projects with their UK and international partners.
Graham Norton hosted the event and was joined by singer and West End star of Memphis and The Bodyguard BEVERLEY KNIGHT, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner BIANCA DEL RIO, comedian JOE LYCETT, Strictly Come Dancing stars ROBIN WINDSOR as well as the casts of many West End shows.
Cafe De Paris was PACKED but luckily I managed to get into the VIP area where I mingled with the stars (and actually found somewhere to sit). Take a look at some of the people I got chatting to, I event got interviewed (although I have no idea what for!!)
West End Bares is always a very stagey event and everyone comes out in force to help raise money for this great charity. Given how busy it was though makes me wonder if next year might be time to move this to a different venue. I couldn’t see a thing of what happened on stage and I think the work that went in to the performances deserves to be seen by everyone who has paid for a ticket.
None the less I had a great night for a great cause!
