X Factor winner, Sam Bailey, announces one-off concert, Sam Bailey: Live in the West End

Sam Bailey Live in the West End (photo credit Joseph Sinclair)Sam Bailey, who won ITV’s The X Factor in 2013, will take the stage in Londons West End for the first time in her career for a one-off concert at the Lyric Theatre. Sam and a plethora of special guests will perform an evening of musical theatre on 12th October 2015. Tickets for Sam Bailey Live in the West End go on sale at 10am on Monday 22nd June 2015.

Before she stole the hearts of the nation by winning the tenth series of The X Factor, Sam worked as a prison officer at HM Prison Gartree as well as performing on cruise ships, in clubs and at music festivals for several years. Under the mentorship of Sharon Osborne she became a clear favourite on the show, dazzling audiences and judges alike with her stunning voice and natural stage presence. She received more than a million votes over the course of the final weekend and was crowned winner of the show. Following her triumph, her debut single, ‘Skyscraper, reached Christmas number one and her debut album, The Power of Love stormed to the top of the UK album charts in 2014.

Speaking of the concert, Sam said “I can’t wait to take the stage in London’s incredible West End and have the chance to perform some of my favourite musical theatre numbers. It’s going to be a fantastic night with a few surprises for the audience!”

Sam Bailey: Live in the West End is produced and directed by Katie Pesskin (British Musical Futures, RSO in London [St James Theatre],The Last Five Years [Greenwich Theatre]) for As Told By Productions. The concert will feature musical direction by Michael Riley (Danielle Hope: In Concert [Delfont Room], The Last Five Years [Greenwich Theatre]). Further casting will be by Benjamin Newsome. Sam Bailey is represented for musical theatre by Oxford Adams Associates.
